Sometimes it takes a long time to get paid. We are waiting on a stupid amount of money!
BUT, please do not bring the names of the companies up on H-T. Call Glen at NOPI, or Josh at NHRA, Or BOTI, etc. Have them get on the companies.
It sucks....but bringing names out on here will just discourage those sponsors or new sponsors from stepping up in the future.
Contingency sponsors are a great thing to have we need MANY more! Some racers do not know that these sponsors have to pay Race sanctions to even be a Contingency Sponsor, IT is not cheap either!!!!!
I hope that is a HUGE focus for NOPI for '08. People will not care so much about a small payout if there is $5,000 worth of contingency behind that.
It is also the RACERS part to do the right thing:
1. Use the sponsors actual decal. (Yes half the time the race sanctions do not have any) Redoing a sponsors decal in your own colors or changing their design a bit, is REALLY discouraging for the sponsors. I think this has hurt sport compact. (We are guilty of the same thing)
2. One thing that really used to **** me off was, when a racer would come to our trailer right before a Final and ask for decals because they had not been running any all weekend! I guess they got lucky and made it to the final or were just unprepared. Either way that is a shitty thing to do!
I just feel if WE want to help sport compact EVERYBODY needs to step up!!
I know having 20 ugly stickers on your sweet *** paint job sucks, but if it means $2,000 more at the end of the weekend...........it is worth it.
This is not directed at anybody in particular in this thread, this has just been on my mind for a while.
I know everybody wants to throw NHRA under the bus ( I would like to at least push them off the curb
) But we had a good thing going for us, I think we ALL dropped the ball...... a little. It helped put NHRA in that position along with stunning the growth of sport compact racing.
OK, I am done. Sorry it was so long. (But what else we going to talk about?)
Maybe we could start another MERGE thread. LOL

Stacey and I both won our classes at the NOPI street event in Alabama a couple years ago. We got a $600 payout each and about $2200 total in contingency. They all paid pretty quick, within 2 months.
