Default Coilover setting for drag racing

I have a ground control coilovers and i was wondering if it was better to drop low and even all around, or if it was better to do some whack **** like raise the front up (more weight on front tires) or raise the back up?

Don't worry about how low you are. Worry about your alignment settings: toe, camber, caster, etc.

Just run some higher rates in the rear to keep the car from squatting.

Do those little cheap things you insert in your springs between the coils help?

What cheap things are you talking about? Is it like an insert to keep the spring from compressing?

Yeah, its a little wedge shapped thing that goes in between coils to keep the spring from compressing. Heres a terrible drawing: I've seen them at orielys and a local performance shop.

Have you heard of anyone using them? They might be good for the strip, as long as they dont hurt your springs or shocks.

I would run the car as low as possible for a lower center gravity. But you need a camber kit for the front to keep things in check. A good starting point is a 1/2 degree negative so when the front lifts the wheels will straighten . If you don't have 900lb springs for the rear you can double up the bump stops. But don't jack the rear of the car, thats just stupid.

Sorry, that "pic" came out terrible. What about jacking up the front of your car? wouldn't that put more weight on the front tires? something just doesn't seem right about that though... ya know? I'll probably pick up a set of those and let you guys know how they do.

what ever you do dont jack the car up in the front....that will only induce weight transfer to the rear

But doesn't jacking up the front put more weight on the front tires to start with?
