I paid CNC to sleeve a block and build it. I supplied all new parts and block. Got engine back in one week! I was thrilled!
Block lasted 8 times down the track and blew up.......not even 8 full passes. I spoke to Chris At cnc and he agreed to sleeve another motor and we part our ways......I have emailed and called for the last 4 mos.......NOTHING!
I dont know how companys can do this type of **** to the little guys that work our asses off to pay for these parts and get fvked in the end......
This has to be heard! We have to stand against this type of Bs from "legit" engine building shops.
I hope to have my block done.
I can and will post details apon request......

Why do you assume that it is the builder? What I want to know, what do you think failed?Originally Posted by JJsMotorsports

sad to hear and good luck getting them to cover the damages they are going to claim that it was tuning issues and not mechanical

After speaking with people that have been doing this type of builds, I understood it was an engine build error......I hope they chime in.....I have had motors built from T1 and lasted alot more than 8 full passes.Originally Posted by slowturbocx

That sucks! Definitely sounds like it acl basics could be the cause! I can't see them holding up to that type of power..
If they are coming to Vegas, I'm sure they'd bring a spare, maybe it has your name on it?

Only difference in race and basic is a coating on the basic that isn't on the race. Never had a problem with them at 800+.
It's sad to hear though man, I myself have been waiting on a shortblock since October.

good luck man.
From your description it sounds like a rod failure. At 950+ it's kinda tought to point fingers.
I just want them to do what we agreed on nothing more.......I will NOT ever spend another penny at this business......I didnt want to post this but I keep getting ignored and I dont play that ****......Next step is flying over there and getting some **** done!

as stated before, at 800+hp its hard to point fingers. Was there any sign of sleeve shift? i have heard of this happening before with the same result. Just a thought.

Well when we disassembled the block , number two sleeve just fell out lol....... I have been doing this a long time and knew that wasn't right!

Oil pressure was low from the get go on this motor, fresh it never saw more than 65psi. That's a build issue.
Honda-Tech Member
Sound like the clearances were way to tight! I have never even heard of a sleeve completely falling out of the block. As i run it threw my mind its kinda funny "no pun intended JJ".

Man that sucks.....you have been through a ton of motors. Tony I don't know how many motors you go through, but seems to me this guy needs motors and tunes from you.
Honda-Tech Member
Good luck jj hope everything gets sorted out. I have an awesome machine shop in my area if you need anything rjtmachine.com does all of out work. He has done a shitload of motors for us zero issues and is a really stand up guy!

omg, well its good you are staying in the fight. Do have any other did bits of info for us as to cause? some one stated ring clearances, idk, just throwing out ideas. i know you may not be able to tell with the rod bearings but, what was the condition of the main bearings upon disassembly?
