Changes for next year
was in the nscra rules. wide fronts for true street are legal this year, and will not be legal next year (even though i see them changing their mind on that).
this is only for true street, not the outlaw class or whatever its called at nscra events

that is just dumb
not even enough cars out there to begin with -- most people love the wide front ends and want to run them so you are going to alienate even more, lol
you would think the powers that be organizing these events would do whatever they can to get as many racers in as many classes as possible -- but what do i know

the reasoning was to try to show a split between the 2 class's (outlaw and truestreet) for the people in the stands that dont know the difference. thats why they state no hood exit exhausts etc. i see where they are coming from, but i dont agree with it. i have a car here right now we need to build a turbo kit for....but we dont know if we should put a front end on it or not.
maybe they will come in and change that rule in this thread today so that we can get started on that car!

yeah its been in the rules. I still got one so we will wait and see what goes down for next year.If we have to move up a class then ....we will still be out there racing.
my front end dont even cover my tires.....

Maybe its because there having trouble filling the Outlaw class and the TS is so popular, I think without the rule change the Outlaw class would disappear at the regular events.
Who gives a f*ck what they look like? Anyone really think there are people in the stands who are confused and won't come back because some of the cars in the two classes look similar?
if i was a random fan i would much rather have cars racing side by side down the track regardless of how they look
look at ADRL -- anyone tell me the obvious exterior difference between a 10.5, Pro Nitrous or Pro Extreme Car ???? but they sure do pack the stands and fans don't seem to care

you cant tell the difference at all between the class's at adrl.....a lot of the times there isnt even a difference in ET haha
keep the wide fronts for true street next year!!

I dont see any valid reason why the fronts should not be used. So many people have bought them, ok no hood exit exhaust fine, but what makes the front end not "street"?
Its functional and looks awesome

I guess the big problem is that since these cars are "street" cars, they want them too look like a street car. In other words, you should be able to take off the slicks bolt on some street wheels and tires and drive down the street. Id say 90 of the TS cars are almost outlaw trim sept for the turbos.
Dumb rule but hey what can ya do.

this has been discussed over and over, they really need to tune in and fix this issue since some people have to change intercooler positioning, weight bar mounting, etc just to downgrade to a shitty stock front end. its not always just "revert back to stock" its often several hundred or into the thousands of dollars to change back.
in my opinion true street should be something you drive on the street. take my car for example. its mainly a street car and gets driven on the street every week. i would never get a wide front end for it because it would look really silly with my rotas lol
how many of you true street people actually regularly drive your cars on the street??

Over half of the cars that run in this class are trailer queens and never see the street anyway. Why change the rules after people spend crazy money on there cars to get this class to the point it's at. I'm sure they will have a hard time feeling the feild at events if 80% of the cars won't be legal to run it.
i think ahobbs car is a perfect example of how a wide front end can work perfect on a street car. i think the wide front end shouldnt be outlawed just because i see it as a safety thing where you dont have to worry about your tires rubbing your fenders.
