lmao your funny. no for real does it make a differnce. i heard taht it does when vtec engages. but that was form a butt dyno. something about less restriction.
i know one time my muffler fell off. and my car started pulling like a *****.

it helped me when i took my cat off.. although it did have a rotten egg smell to it like youve heard.. just something u gotta deal with.. also if you have emissions in your state, your not likely to pass them

Not worth it. Your car is auto man it will not make any difference. Also you only have vtec on the intake side if you have a vtec head so you would not hear it from the exhaust note!!!

hollowing out cats is cool...huh huh huh...I have been doing that **** on just about every car since I was 16...And yes, there does come an increse in power when u move more cfm...Cant hurt, its free, but it might make the automatic car sound like pure ***, esp. if u allready have an aftermarket exhaust system...(somethin for u to think about)

im my experience replacing the cat w a test pipe has produced noticeable butt dyno gains. however, ive only had dohc motors. dunno if it makes any difference w sohc.

edit: ive only removed the cat on dohc motors.

hollowing the catalytic converter on a naturally aspirated car creates a stagnant flow area. it actually disrupts the exhaust pulses which help the engine make power by pulling exhaust gas out of the engine.

sounds *neat*, is crappy. get a test pipe/

isnt a test pipe the same as removing the cat and puttin a pipe to connect the header to the exhaust

just some food for thought do you enjoy breathing **** for air?

come on, one thing to run a test pipe at the track but come on keep our air clean

plus you will gain zero HP

says who? i would disagree. maybe u wont gain a lot, but taking away the restriction of a cat is def gonna give u an increase of some sort.

ok so maybe a gain of 2-3 hp but for the price of poluting the air ?

people have to understand a cat is the only polution controled equipment on the car why would you want to **** up the air?

i dont wanna sound like some tree hugging **** but come on at least buy a test pipe so you can switch for when you want those two extra horses

I think that your HP will definatley go up (slightly)on the high side but your torque will suffer in the low end.

A gutted cat is pretty worthless IMO. You gain minimal power, and it sounds like ***. A high flow cat on the other hand just goes hand in hand with a header and catback, you'll improve flow and not pollute the environment. I have a high flow on my ZC and I shoot some pretty impressive fireballs between shifts (an extra bonus i guess).

I can feel the difference when I open up my cut out, it by passes my cat. I notice that down low, Its not as stong, past 3k it pulls pretty hard, and it sounds better then any aftermarket exhaust. Youll notice a bigger difference if you get a different tranny in there besides one thats an automatic.
