burnout on radials?
Ok i have already searched and found that the best way to heat up my bfg g-force drag radials is to do a second gear burnout. My question is how do i do this? I've tried it on the street and it just bogged and didn't work but i figured it was due to no waterbox. This was with my 2-step at 6500 and dumping the clutch. Should i go higher and do i stay in waterbox or roll throuh? thanks
why do a second gear burnout? just heat em up in first...drop at about 6500 ... drop it hard with the emergency brake on and let them cook, moderate the throttle when it gets too high...shouldnt take much...

On the street its gonna be tuff to do a 2nd gear burn out unless you make a **** load of power.. especially because there is no water. @ the track you should definitly do a 2nd gear burn out, even if your only around 200whp... get the tires wet, light em up and when smoke comes into the cabin you are ready.
second gear allows for faster rotation due to higher gearing.
i roll thru the box about 1 foot out and set e-brake, then drop the clutch at about 6-6.5k turning the wheel from side to side and when i feel the car start to pull forward i let go of the brake and john force burn to the line.....
i have been able to turn 1.71 60' on a t3 mx6 running 13.5@109 near 28lbs of boost 17 or so off the line.....on a freakin autozone clutch kit no less. stock axles and 215/55/15 bfg drag radials.....
