Default Building the 97

I bought a 1997 Honda Accord 5 speed manual. It has the 2.2 non v-tech motor. I ended up blowing my trans so the accord has been stored away for the winter and i ended up buying me a truck. The accord is now a project car and my goal is to have it running mid 11's this year. What can i do to build this motor to make it run 11s? i'm new to the honda scene, i grew up building big blocks.

I would like to stay with the same motor in the car instead of doing a motor swap.

You're going to need to do a lot of reading in the forced induction section.

Why build an accord?
I'd sell it now since you haven't started the project and get an EG civic.
That chassis will be much easier for you to run 11's in.

FWD sucks, I recommend building a big block RWD car. haha

Motors are super cheap, however aftermarket parts aren't. Car is also heavy.

Can be a fun build, but a lot of money to do so.

If you wanna keep the stock motor. Your motor will need to be rebuilt with upgraded pistons and rods. Add a decent sized turbo and 11s Wont be that hard. You would be looking at 3,000 for the motor. And 3000 for a decent turbo kit.

Swapping in a H22 would make it possible without a built motor. Still need a decent turbo kit. $2000 for a quality motor swap with transmission. Keep in mind H22 is interchangeable with the CD5 chassis. So you can use your stock mounts and can even use the F22 tranny. Bringing down cost.

F20B swap is also an drop in replacement that offers motor potential than the F22

Keep in mind all your drag racing supporting mods. Slicks, Suspension, Clutch, etc
