Default Breaking Intermediate Shafts

I'm just trying to see if anyone else has had this problem cause so far it seems like I'm the only one. Rewind a little bit, Back in October we snapped the first intermediate shaft off inside the diff. We did a hit count and it had maybe 8 tops. Then on the second one it had about 12 but this one hadn't actually broken yet. We took the tranny out for maintenance and the splines were twisted but definitely getting ready to break. Put a different shaft in just before the shreveport race and it broke after 4 hits. And on that note if anyone has a DA style intermediate shaft, we will kindly accept it. But with this being the only part as of yet that has actually "broken" we are at a loss and have no idea why this part of all of them is breaking. I am preloading but we have no idea wth is going. Anyone ever had this issue.

wtf. I have never personally seen a broken intermediate shaft. I know it has happened, but you are one in a million with that frequency.

Why do you think we are having such a hard time figuring out wth is going on. They literally just snap off in the diff and no one has any ideas. We are starting a collection.

Aldo, why would I ask for a da intermediate shaft if we weren't even using that already lol?

If we had money for the prolevel stuff would we be having this conversation in the first place.

Ric, yes we got it. Mike actually knew exactly where it was. Problem is that leaves us with back up.

The bearing and everything seem solid. But how can 3 intermediate shafts in a row all be bad. The odds would have to be in the millions.

Then clearly my question doesn't apply to you. Wouldn't some level of logic maybe kick in that I'm asking those who have had the same issue. And the problem with getting an upgraded intermediate shaft is mine is a da one. There are no aftermarket ones made for da style ones.

Damn Roy! Everyone here is here to help. You should stop being such a dick when people are just putting their opinions on things. Also. That is why you started the thread right. DsS sells just the upgraded halfshaft if I'm not mistaking. That would be your best bet. Instead of sitting scratching your head wondering why it's breaking. Just upgrade it, cuz I'm sure when Acura came out w the halfshaft they didn't expect to have 700hp thrown at it. Also. I used to break all kinds of **** in the drivetrain.... Until I switched tuners haha

Is this issue so rare that not many people have it happen and there is no wise old man with the answer as to what does this?

It's not all that rare, it has happened to us a few times. We upgraded a few of the cars to DSS intermediate bars..

Only time ive seen damage to intermediate shafts is when either the diff is taking a **** or broken it would twist the splines on them or if your not using the right bolts and its moving around. Thats with 26's and even smaller tires.
