Oh relax. . .

Everyone's cars that are going to be together, will be. The ones that arent , wont be.

I fail to see how everyone throwing a hissy fit about a schedule is going to do anything.

Hell the schedule didnt come out until February last year and we all still made it out there.
Do i think its right? No . Does it suck? Yes.
Sadly enough its about on par for our sport. Why you expect anything less is beyond me.

Screw popcorn, i'm breaking out the lounge chair and 30 pack . . .
Oh wait i have a car to build. . . Damnnit

The late rules and schedule made me miss the first few races last year. I'm glad that I did wait for the rules to come out too because I would of bought a turbo that I could not of used in the class.
Some of these cars are not as easy as an Allmotor car to build.....

im telling you that the deadline for my wife to request her dates off for the season has now passed. which in turn means while she is working i will be home w/ our two kids.

sure i can make the races which wont require me spending several days away from home because even if shes working we can have someone else watch the kids. BUT not for more than a couple days at a time.

im sure i will travel away for the weekend along the east coast, but anything further than that is now not an option for me.

Jake, for alot of us it doesnt only have to do w/ a car being ready haha. I know there are plenty of guys who are in my same position w/ having familys and this is why releasing an early schedule is so important to so many of us. everything changes when you have kids to think about.

Maybe im just getting too old

This is true... With my wife driving the car again this year she needs to know so that she can take the time off of her job. Its not like me. I can open and close as I wish. I bring my kids to the races only because I can. Some people cant do that if there is just one parent and that parent has to be behind the wheel.. It is what it is and I am sure that Frank and BOTI are doing their best to get the schedule out there.. I dont think any of us would want posts from them with a bunch of unconfirmed dates or a bunch of "Maybes"... Putting that out and then having them change the dates due to track schedule changes would be worse IMO..

Frank hurry up and post something or I will blow up your phone.. lol

yeah i wouldnt want a schedule full of unconfirmed dates either, but i see no rerason boti cant post the already confirmed dates.

it was already posted they are only waiting to hear back from a couple tracks, other than that the schedule is complete.

so why not post the confirmed dates? it would help alot of racers get started on their traveling plans as well as sponsorship proposals and budgeting for the season.

Some of these cars are not as easy as an Allmotor car to build.....

So cry about it publicly, that will make it better . . .

My point is that everyone sitting here going back and forth is solving nothing. Its not going to make the rules magically appear. Last year I had to fab an exhaust, catch pan and find a bunch of pieces in order to make the trip to Georgia. It would have been great to have them a lot earlier yes. But can you honestly sit here and say that you expected anything less for 09?

Requesting time off if you have a family, is one thing. I understand how tough that can be.

When it comes down to it, The cars that were going to be ready WILL BE READY, and the ones that werent going to before, Wont be now.

PS: if all motor cars are so easy to build, please feel free to come and help me out with mine. Building a setup that there are only 3 others like it in the entire country is no walk in the park . . .

Crying??? Is that your answer for everything? Play that BS for some of them kids.
If we the racers dont let our voice be heard then no one will know what we truelly want.
Yes I do exspect better result this year then last. They SHOULD take 08 as a learning lesson.

3 set up? Atleast you have 2 to copy. I copy no one. I've done things that have never been done before.

No offence to you Mr. Parks but with as much as racers have been dicked around with in the last year some of us want to see those words straight from the sanction body website/owner not a employee on a forum. In the last year the has been way too stuff being posted, then changed, then changed again.

People want to see it in black in white.

LOL Ok guys lets calmdown. From what i heard the payouts will be a little better, plus if the guys qualifying want to make a side pot for a bigger payout to the semi and finals, So be it. Jason is down for that i'm sure.
Can you imagine if everyone put in 100 dollar for a side pot? 800 extra for the winner, 400 for runner up, and 200 for semi's? On top of what Battle is gonna do this year? Thats worth it to me, i'm down with it! Well that is if they do a 16 car field.

But Jason, I do have one question? I have to start requesting my vacations at the end of January. Could you ask Frank on what the chances of having a schedule out by the mid or end of this month? It would be much appreciated!
And are you doing 1 day instead of 2 day events this year? Somone mentioned a race in 2009 and it has your event for 1 day only.
Thanks

Haha everyone has, nobody copies anyone. It's easy to plan a car around a set of rules with little things like a turbo changing. If you're worried about it needing a lot more room but you know you're using a T4 divided...mock up the biggest one you can find and you're safe. It's thinking like that which gets cars done for the season without a 100% solid rule layout.

I agree with Jake, it totally sucks but I can't see how Frank would let the ball be dropped on this one. He has the potential to step up to the plate, he's been around long enough not to mess this up.

Keep building everyone, and post pics too

There is more to getting a car ready for a season than just rules and turbo fitment. If people have to wait on rules to the last minute they have to scramble to get the right tires, right turbo, ect. Leaving very little time to do any testing before having to travel to events. Hence the reason why the turnout was so bad in the beginning of last season, some people cant afford and wont travel far to events without working out the early season bugs that are always there.

When the track opens, and you cant test becuase you car isnt done because it took the sanction bodies forever to put out there rules it can be frustrating.

You a bracket raced, when was the last time you had to wait on class rules, turbo sizes, legal tires ect. You have never had to worry about anything like that before so dont act like it is so easy, when its something you have never done.

Little things like a $2000+ turbo? $2000 to me isnt little. What does everyone just happen to have an extra 42r/372 with a race cover laying around? Am I suppose to guess? Build it on a hope and a prayer. Why do you think the turbo sticks threw my hood now? I was told yes your turbo "should" fit since you have a Full Race mani. SUPRIZE!!!.

I guess we will see your car done by the first race then?

BOTI has a chance of a life time. They can own this sport but when you **** the races off with BS like this you will be just like others....

What? lol

The two of you guys need a room at the we hate rota motel

No, my car will not be at the first race. I'm not pretending that it will be either, but the car will fit into the rules without me needing them. There are plenty of resources out there in order to be sure everything is fine. Sometimes its okay to ask others for help, as they are happy to give it.
