BOTI S/S class
If you have a real JDM CRX (not converted), then you would only be allowed to run a B16 motor, no B18s. If you built a B16 thats fine, but there are many differences in the b16 and b18 blocks unlike the B18B to B18C so any B18 would be out of the question.
thanx for clearing that up a little Fran.
Seems kinda like a grey area to me.
Theres problley no real benefit to running a B-series S/S CRX,cause of weight penalties.

i think you would be fine. i run a ls block in my integra and its a gsr. as long as its a single cam in a civic it should be ok. whats the difference if a z6 is in a ex, a dx, or a si.
like for me i have a ls block in a gsr chassis, but whats the difference, i can still put a ls crank in a gsr block. jason hunt was inspecting cars and tried to make me run the all motor street class at imports vs domestics. i was telling him this is my 3rd time running this class.
both jason miller at MIR, and frank choi @ BOTI said my ls/v setup was perfectly ok for street stock.

Any other input guys?
this is the direct rule on the imports vs domestics website in street stock:
Engine: No motor swaps allowed. Engine and cylinder head must have been available for year, make, and model of car sold in USA.
boti rules may differ.
I think that boti should follow the imports vs domestics rules and allow 6 cylender car compete in street stock, really helps fill the field, look at the street stock turnout:

Hmm I thought street stock didnt have enough cars? The rules are awesome for imports vs domestics, look at the diversity and turn out in the class. The promoter of the event spread the word on a ton of forums to get a large street stock turnout, and it happened. The cars are out there, they are willing to race, there just needs to be better more open rules ( for VWs', nissans ect) and good communication.

Yeah.. I'm going to make all the California races and Las Vagas too... I don't know about Seattle or Woodburn though..
If that were the case, then I would have to put my motor into an EG...
I am pretty sure you have to run a single cam..

read my post above you. thats the point I was getting at.
you have to run the motor that was available to your car in that year (in the U.S.)
So you pretty much have to stay SOHC. NON VTEC i'm asuming.
well that sucks.... but what about having a integra LS??? we had an integra ls at fontana and we had a lsvtec going on. i know the the integra didnt come with an lsvtec
i would see no problem with a ls/v in a ls integra. its a b series in a integra, not a motor swap as far as i am conserned.
why is there such confusion? this is a class that has existed for years. the rules could be worded a little better for those with reading comprehension problems but afaik a motor swap would be using a motor family that was never offered in a particular chassis.

I think the class should be a little more strict and precise on the rules.
And it not just "run any B series" since a B20 vtec is a no go allong with K24 RSX's,
In the spirit of keeping the competition close and cost down I would like to see the displacements let OEM, but that would require extra policing ect.
I love the class, I love racing in it, now I just have to find a way to catch up :-/
