Myles might actually beat all you homos cause his car still runs. The furbee mobile will make 1 full throttle 1/4 mile pass with no issues (in my dreams)!

I think that with the economy is and sponsors probably not wanting to take the chance on more races this year, yeah they did step up. There could be no races coming from BOTI. And I am sure that some of the tracks around dont want to take the chance of billing a BOTI if it wont bring people when they could have had another event that could bring more.

This is the year that we all need to tighten our belts and get out there and show support. Weather its racing or just spectating. We still need to show the sponsors and tracks around the US that we are not going anywhere. Less events mean a little more money saved for traveling. So lets do what we can to keep BOTI going and come back in 2010 for its 20 year Anniversary.

seems like thats been said for past few years time and time again. mir WCF still managed to pull more people than previous years even with as bad as racing was last year and had people contact me about making it out this year.

BOTI will celebrate its 20th yr Anniversary 2010 and but wont let everyone know til 2011.

Whats the lag here. From the way it looks, there isnt a BOTI. No Schedule, not even an update.

i would like to hear from Frank himself.

i give him and the bergenholtz's much respect for doing more than their share for this sport. but i have also been doing my part to support the sport for most of the past decade and would like the same respect returned to me.

alot of us have spent money on new setups expecting a killer 09' season which is what Frank and the Bergenholtz's promised. and we have been waiting and waiting on a schedule to come out only to count the days go by. i would like to see Frank himself make a post towards us guys who have been doing our part.

i would have understood and been fine if Frank would have let me know a while back that the 09' season wouldnt be everything it was hyped up to be. we all know the economy is horrible right now and probably will be for a few years to come. i would have been one fo the first to say, hey we understand and thanks for getting the word out promptly. but i have yet to see Frank make a post lately.

Frank, let us know whats going on man. you cant do anything about the economy and i wouldnt have expected you to. all you can do is your best just like you have been doing for a long time now. just dont keep us in the dark man.

thats how nopi handled buissness and i KNOW boti is a much better organization than that. let us know whats going on Frank!

NAH2B, I agree. We're all in this together. What makes the event succesful? The racers are the show and if you arent catering to them, who's going to show up.

I'm gonna put myself in BOTI's point of view and I would think the reason they arent saying anything is because they dont want to hype it up if nothing goes down. If thats not the case, then why hold back? Say something. Thats the only logical reason I see why there isnt anything being said, its because they have nothing to offer right now. They havent locked down any tracks yet or possibly just dates.
I hope I'm wrong here. BOTI can just say, F all the talkin forums, all that doesnt mean anything. But in reality, forums are the voice of the people. Forums reveal what others are thinking about BOTI and its role in 2009.

Maybe its pride playing a part here. I dont know. The whole sport compact drag racing scene has opened its arms to accept anything thats given to us. The racing events and the whole industry has to do the same. No one needs to be the bad *** at this point. All thats going to do is bring each other down.

NAH2B- You are absolutely right... We are all in this together. Its just that some of us get noticed more than others in the spotlight. I myself have been there since day one in 1990 when Frank held the first BOTI... 50 cars and 300 people total. It was a "Run what you Brung" setup. Only 1 class. And we won in a 1986 VW Rabbit with dual carbs. 14.6. lol.... I can say that the SC Drag Racing scene has come a long way from that first event..

Frank and his small staff are waiting on some confirmations from sponsors and tracks. I dont think it would be fair for him to post the schedule without being 100% confirmed. If you go to the track sites that did BOTI last year , they may already have their '09 schedule up. And they may have BOTI in their schedule. I know there are a few already. I do know that some tracks wont be back this year also . Its not due to the economy altogether either... Conflicts with dates and other events already scheduled for the required dates.. But there is going to be a BOTI, and I am sure that the schedule will be confirmed very shortly. Frank knows that there are people that need to take time off work and get things in order. But he wants to be 100% sure about his side of it as well.

Before every jumps to conclusion about dates and tracks. Lets wait till they officially post it up. You never know this could just be confirmed dates. There could be more dates and the deal is not finallize yet. Be patient.
Whatever happens we all need to show support for what is still around and alive.
