Default Been out of this scene for too long

I am bringing my old Hot Rod class civic back to life and have some questions.
1. Why did people stop using wheelie bars?
2. Why type of fuel are the 1000 HP cars running? My car is set up for methanol and no I/C. Noticed all cars are running a I/C now.

Just trying to to catch up the progression of the sport. All input apppreciated

‘There are a ton a questions I could ask, but I’m going simple for the moment. With the advancement of suspension, slicks and traction setups the need for wheelie bars died off. Many weekend warriors are doing 1.5-16 60ft time and the better setups doing 1.4’s. E90 bought in 50 gallon barrels seem to be the popular choice for some bigger hp guys from what I’ve noticed. What times are you shooting for?

Well our goal will be to eventually run consistent 8.30’s. With E-90 a I/C is required? I have a 8 injector setup. The primaries would be 1100cc. What cc should the secondaries be? Do you know what pound springs in the rear most people are running? Appreciate the help getting back on track

Methanol will make more power than any gasoline/ethanol blend 9.999 times out of 10. Continue to use methanol. You do not need an intercooler with methanol if this is a drag car only deal.

We plan on attending some of the IFO events and the rules state any fuel can be used. I am just trying to figure out why more people arent running methanol with no I/C

Because that is the old "Hot Rod" way of doing things. There is no hotrod/outlaw class. Except for 1 or 2 cars in the country. Therefore, an intercooler isnt hurting anyone. However, you can still run methanol with an intercooler. Lots of people are running methanol. I would say it's the number 1 fuel choice among today's top racers.

I’m not to the level to be discussing what it takes to run 8’s yet lol. I’m not far of the 9’s though. Hopefully some 1000+hp guys will check in

Kaizenspeed rear trailing arm kits replaced wheelie bars.
e98 is what I use for fuel.
I use 8ID 2000’s for injectors.
