I think it is the 60ft times that are hurting me the most in the quarter. It isn't spinning off the line, but rather its breaking traction in the higher rpms of 1st and 2nd. Of course, I was going to try and improve on this until I screwed up my GSR tranny this morning..... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=365673. Anyone know any good deals on an ITR?

forget the tranny, u need tires. the 60fts suck badly. a bone stock 99 EX pulls better than 2.5 60s. those traps r good for 12s. INVEST IN TIRES.

Howabout the combination of the two ( tranny with LSD and tires)..... you see I already need another tranny so why not go all out with an ITR ... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=365673 . An ITR tranny, which of course you know has a LSD, with some Falken Azenis sticky tires (there was a recent thread that gave this tire rave reviews). Bottom line, I had better 60ft times when I was N/A. I am getting off the line fine by slipping the clutch, but in the top of 1st and 2nd gear I am breaking traction which is due to my tires. How much do you think I have to get my 60ft times reduced to in order to get WAY better times (like you talk about)????????????

AND THIS IS 4PSI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL LOL

well heres the tough part. do u want good times or do u want to break stuff. street tires arent goin to help all that much. u need a sticky tire such as BFG drags or some slicks. u will need 2.0 60s or better. u only need around 102-103 traps for 12s.

I would rather have good times than break stuff. If I had a 2.2 60ft, I would go crazy. I need to get to the dyno with my S200 soon. All I have now are base maps and I don't know how well they will work. I would like to trap 105mph again except with a 2.2 60ft and see what 1/4 miles time that gives me. I am off to the transmission shop now to see if I need to replace my tranny.

id try some BFG drags. they will get better traction but still not start to really break drivetrain. i looked at the time once again. besides traction for good 60s u might want to try to modulate the throttle more. obviously the 60s need work. but lookin at ur time i look back at my time in the 1/4 with my heavy *** 99 civic w/GSR motor. my 60fts own u with 2.0s vs ur 2.4 and 2.5. my 1/8th mile is better than urs to with 9.2 vs ur 9.4s. difference is ur MPH OWNS ME, haha. i was only runnin 75-76. ur 1/4 14.2 @105 vs mine 14.5 @95-96. just to reflect what ur car could potentially do.

So you think all I need to do is get in the habit of modulating the throttle and get some stickier tires?

Lowering my 60ft times?.......Do you not have faith in my worn out Firestone 185 pizza cutter economy high mileage tires?? lol I am getting some Falken Azenis for a good all-around street/strip tire. Do you think a 2.2 60ft is asking to much out of these Falkens? What do you think my 1/4 time would look like if I got my 60 down that low? The lowest I have had my 60ft after the turbo was a 2.4. I want to try someone else's boost gauge on my car first to make sure I am getting the right reading before I turn it up. I am guessing by my car weight, trap, and 1/4 mile time that I am putting about 250hp to the ground which doesn't sound like 4psi. I have tried 2 different vacuum sources on the intake manifold for the boost gauge, but it still reads the same. There is no spike or creep being seen either.

azenis should do 2.2's relatively easy. some people on this board have even gone 2.0's with them.
