Default Automatic Turbo LS

Can anyone post times please?

I'm scared to floor the LS past first gear. The boost reaches .55 bar but I let off when the car is about to shift into second.

I'm traumatized from the last time the motor blew on me.

What times are you guys putting down?

Dave

when i had a turbo'd stock ls/stock auto in my '93 hatch it went 8.6@85 mph with 2.2 60's (stock tires) in the 1/8th. i never quarter e.t.'d it, but i guessed that it was good for some definite low 13 sec passes...with good tires...maybe a high high 12. it was quite fast for a stock block auto hybrid with 6 psi. go full throttle.

do you still have automatic, or did you get rid of it?

how long did your tranny last?

I would love to hit 13's! I was only expecting mid 14's.

I'm thinking about just running it, blowing it and getting a new tranny

no i don't have the auto anymore. i tried to bully it hard to see how long that it would last and that was two months or so. it was very very consistent but i would have liked to race it if the tranny got fully built to be able to handle 300+ horsepower, but the cost for that you could do the conversion and have money for extra goodies. it was nice hustling people with a hybrid turbo auto "civic"..."i don't know...my 'civic' is automatic". i guess the main thing is to have a really good power to weight ratio...you would have to loose a lot of weight or build a lot of power. it's amazing what lighter cars can do with the same power. good luck and be careful with that auto...they are very weak.

hahaha, classic... ls auto is pretty damn weak. At least upgrade the tq converter. All in all its not worth it. Unless you really want the auto for one reason or another. Its more cost efficient to do a 5spd swap than to upgrade an auto.

<-- auto-5spd swap this summer

I got a tranny cooler and the torque converter from level ten. It is my brothers car anyways (although I have put in over 5 g's into it). I'm waiting on my WRX and my civic... they should be coming within the next 20 years.
