Had these mounts in the car for two years now. I pulled the motor out yesterday and found the rear mount was completely toast.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with Avid stuff.

I also run a full race pro am trac bar with the solid bar on the front of the motor. I don't think the motor would be able to move too much with that bar there... Definitely not enough movement allowed to thrash this mount.

 

damn i have avid mounts but not for 2 years, call them and see if they will do anything

Had hasports rear mount do that. Sent them back and had the solid bushings installed free of charge.

 

Yup, I've seen it happen to EVERY mount company. Especially that rear mount.

 

Hopefully I will get lucky and have some solid customer support from avid like you had from hasport... It's a shame when u shell out the money for what u think is a quality set of mounts and u end up with this.

 

Like people have stated, it's happened to every company. Don't get too bummed out over it, worst case you buy a new rear mount or bushing to be pressed in. Just like any manufacturing there is going to be at least 1 defect every so often. Hope things go well, Franklin seems like a good guy.

 

Our mounts carry a lifetime warranty as well... I have seen this happen from time to time, but it's been awhile. What happens is that te urethane has air pockets in them and with our vacuum chamber can't remove 100 percent out sometimes. Now that I have seen the pics, just send me an email to info at avidracing dot com and we'll have a new set out for you on Monday. Please also to ensure full name and address along with contact number. Also of you need to upgrade to a harder durometer of poly urethane, just add in that email and we'll make it happen.
