Here is the qualifying spots

(L) Kenny Kneece – 4.368 et – 170.99 mph
(R) Matt Suite – 4.558 et – 168.66 mph

Kneece has been away for a few races… And he doesn’t miss a beat going straight into the .30’s!!!

(L) Kevin McCurdy – 4.448 et – 170.86 mph
(R) Gary Gardella – 4.983 et – 167.78 mph

McCurdy is in a nice lookin blown late model Firebird… And makes a pretty decent pass on his first hit..

(L) Jason Hunt – 5.093 et – 156.19 mph
(R) Brian Keller – N/T

Keller is in an ’81 turbo powered Fairmont… And he just destroys the transmission at the hit of the throttle… WOW, parts & fluid are everywhere…

(ADRL/Tocher photo)

(L) Brent Rau – 4.929 et – 155.19 mph

(R) Jerry Albert – 6.506 et – 103.43 mph

Rau is back again in the little Eclipse… Both guys click it off about halftrack…

(L) Jorge Lazcano – 4.496 et – 161.36 mph
(R) Jimmy Byrne – 6.466 et – 110.24 mph

Lazcano with the Mech Tech Puerto Rico team makes a good pass...

(L) Billy Glidden – 4.265 et – 168.77 mph
(R)

Glidden had a little wiggle of the line but still kills the left lane!!!

(L) Alex Viscardi – 4.565 et – 162.37 mph
(R) Steve Kirk – 4.401 et – 174.77 mph

Boom boom drifted to the centerline… Kirk was soft at the hit…

(L) Bob Mandell III – 7.193 et – 105.23 mph
(R) Randy Matlock – 8.290 et – 77.47 mph

Matlock is in a gorgeous red ’57 Chevy… And drives blew the tires off right at the hit of the throttle…

(L) David Janes – 4.418 et – 163.33 mph
(R) Mike Hill – 4.466 et – 167.99 mph

Great side by side pass here, smooth & straight for both guys.

(L) Todd Moyer – 4.359 et – 163.26 mph
(R) Gary White – 4.739 et – 175.11 mph

Great run for Moyer to get to the #2 spot… But look at the MPH for White in the Toyota!!!

(L) Michelle Wilson – 8.125 et – 55.97 mph
(R)

Wilson had all kinds of troubles during testing today…And he drives into big time shake here & is not in the show for now…

Second Round of Qualifying

Extreme 10.5 Qualifying Round #2

(L) Mike Hill – N/T
(R) Jason Hunt – 5.764 et – 154.94 mph

(L) Steve Kirk – 4.265 et – 177.18 mph
(R) Michelle Wilson – 4.509 et – 160.40 mph

Huge run by Kirk here to take the #1 spot from Glidden with HUGE mph!!!

(L) Jerry Albert – 4.951 et – 147.76 mph
(R) Brent Rau – 4.462 et – 161.46 mph

Holy cow, look at the numbers from Rau with the turbocharged, factory casting block & head 4 cylinder Mitsubishi!!!!!!

(L) Jimmy Byrne – 5.040 et – 144.33 mph

(R) Billy Glidden – 4.235 et – 169.81 mph

WOW, Glidden does it again, taking the top spot right back away from Kirk with another killer run!!!

(L) Gary White – 4.353 et – 167.34 mph
(R) Jorge Lazcano – 4.414 et – 164.03 mph

Lazcano is in a 350Z… Nice import matchup here… And they both come thru with very nice passes…

(L) Gary Gardella – 5.014 et – 161.32 mph
(R) Alex Viscardi – 4.302 et – 173.03 mph

Boom Boom gets it right this time, smooth & straight to go to the #3 spot!!!

(L) HT Wilson – 4.591 et – 154.90 mph
(R) Kevin McCurdy – 9.424 et – 55.08 mph

McCurdy blew the tires off at the hit in the blown ride while Wilson gets in the show for now…

(L) Matt Suite – 4.339 et – 168.20 mph
(R) David Janes – 5.629 et – 113.90 mph

Janes heads to the centerline & has to lift while Suite makes a GREAT pass!!!

(L) Randy Matlock – 4.667 et – 152.14 mph
(R) Bob Mandell III – 8.537 et – 71.07 mph

Mandell made a hard move to the centerline & had to lift….

(L) Mike Hill – 4.404 et – 168.09 mph
(R) Todd Moyer – 4.281 et – 179.37 mph

Killer run by Moyer in the turbo ride with the front half of a new national MPH record!!!

#2 spot, awesome.

To be honest I didn't think the SC guy's could keep up in the 1/8 mile.

Is it possible for the FWD guy's to hang in the Low to mid 4's?

That's a lot ot ask out of what 153 cubic inches ?

BTW we're both at work, this overtime is tuff...

it is going to take a lot for the FWD cars to qualify -- the bump spots have been in the 4.7-4.8 range lately for the 16 car field in Extreme 10.5 -- the FWD cars seem to be consistent in the 4.9 range so they are in the ballpark -- just need to get over that threshhold

either way -- being there is half the battle so i give a lot of credit to Gardella and Hunt's teams for making the races and putting on a good show

I don't think the car will fit any of the rules. Extreme 10.5 needs headlights.

May be next year, if someone talks to them, they could add a class ?

i think with some testing during the off season that they could come back next season and qualify in the last few spots.

I'm pretty sure that in the article that Innes posted recently it said that the ADRL had the SC stuff on their radar since we were shut out by NHRA/NOPI

ADRL is really good about posting results, check it out here:

http://www.adrl.us/index.php/m...ce/33/

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 1992Si &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">http://www.adrl.us/index.php/main/insidepage/rules/

yes, headlights are required in the 10.5 Class -- you can easily mount something on your car with some creative thinking...that wouldn't be too hard

i wouldn't get too jacked up about ADRL adding a Sport Compact (S/C) class -- ADRL has built a great thing with their outlaw type racing, huge fan attendance and lately huge car counts trying to qualify for fields

the latter is the worst part about S/C racing -- car counts suck and even though everyone always says they are going to do this and that to race a full series it doesn't happen with S/C guys 90% of the time -- it is unfortunate but the truth

i would hate to see ADRL commit to some sort of S/C class only to have 3-6 cars show up for the events -- that would be horrible for all involved.
