Default Accusump

Just wondering what size Accusump you guys are using. Just need enough oil to prelube and in case the oil pump breaks.

Looks like there are 1-2 and 3 quart sizes, there's also a "high pressure" unit.
The cheapie 1 quart doesn't use a piston between the oil and the air, is this good
enough??

Thanks! Steve

I too have looked into the Accusump system. Why do you plan on using it? From G forces off the tree, or cause its a race car that is not often started daily? The latter is why I would use it as I dont think the sump problem off the line is an issue.
*Edit....damn beers. N/M just re-read you post. From what I've researched you probably wont need anymore than the 2 qt. setup.

The oil pump is the big reason, cost me a turbo and a bottom end last year out
of no were.

The plan is a pressure swith to turn the engine off, and one way valve so the
accusump pressure won't go back to the broken oil pump and switch.

I just want to learn this lesson once!

So ya think 2 quarts is large enough??

The small one I have used on road race cars for cornering. For what you are doing I would go with the large one, if the pump breaks you can go a further distance with the more oil.

Did you have the stock crank balanced in that motor?

Well, I think so. I sent the rotateing ***. to a shop that I trusted. Turned
out there balancer was broken and it got subed to someone I would have
avoided at all cost's. Of course I found this out way after the engine was back
in the car.

I just wish Jim Justice was a couple hundred miles closer to me!
