800hp fuel pump setup
Hey tony, I had talked to you before about the capabilities of the walbro 255 intank feeding an 044 good to about 7-750 whp. What do you think the capability would be with the Aeromotive Stealth 340 intank feeding an 044. My lines are -8an feed, -6 return. Im shooting for the 750-800whp range. Im gonna be running id2000's at a bit lower pressure. My setup before was id1000's walbro 255 feeding the 044 and my injector duty was around 92% at 34psi from the T67 h.o. roughly around 650whp. Base fuel pressure was also 60psi.
Im thinking about dropping the fuel pressure down to a base of about 45psi. ID2000's, T4 .81 6765 reving out to 9500. This is on an SR20VE btw. But fuel is fuel. running C16 as well. You think the Stealth 340 intank and 044 inline can keep up with the flow at the bit lower pressure to support the 750-800 without issues.

To a Y fitting is fine.
I already have one 044 so might as well just sell the Walbro 255 and get another Weldon and a couple fittings. Sump the tank which wont be too hard and be done.

Ive always been a big fan of the Weldon pumps. I'm just not a fan of running two pumps no matter how much they flow combined, god forbid if one of them go bad the car will still start and run but high rpm???? If need more fuel from the Weldon just size the pump correctly the first time. And the Weldon's are pull pumps so I can mount them anywhere.
Yeah but your talking 800 bucks for a pump to support 800whp vs 400 for two pumps to support 800whp. The dual 044 setup has been proven. How often does a high end brand new pump go bad. Not very often.
You are correct though, if your one pump starts going bad your gonna know it. But for the price of the 044's if it concerns you replace them every 3 years or so to have the peace of mind

We now have a pretty neat surge tank setup for twin 044s that I have been testing and running personally on a few close cars...put one in the H22 last week and retuned, on Pump e85, ID 2000s and 22 psi of boost, we were able to squeek out 660 to the wheels with a Duty Cycle of around 60% on the injectors at a base pressure of 70psi.

You use all factory Feed and Return Lines and keep the surge nice and tight in the engine bay.
The best part about the surge tank setup is these pumps are SUBMERGED in the fuel in the tank for quieter and cooler running operation...pumps that run submerged are happier and last longer I think everyone can agree.
Compared to a sump setup you are talking cheaper and easier and safer if you are running this in a street car since your pumps will no longer be mounted to the underside of your car.

Contrary to the picture on the site, the pumps DO need to be vertical when mounted so that is the only consideration you need when figuring out where to mount this setup.
Any questions please ask!

i had a1000 w/ 8 feed maxed it out at 730 so left -8 there and used it for return "i know prob over kill, but it was already there" and did -10 feed and dual 044s now have more fuel than ill ever need
Stock tank.
255 HP in it with sock
-6 AN lines to an 044 under my feet..
-6 to the rail through a Trick Flow filter.....
FIC 1150s 60 PSI base (Aeromotive regulator).
-6 Return to stock return line
750 WHP 575 TQ... 1.2 ish MS left at PK TQ, 1.5 ms left up top at 8500 (Tq fell off up top though to around 475ish (As did boost from 35-31 PSI due to the 11 psi WG springs in the gates) IIRC... To be fair if the car would have held boost (and TQ better, ID have been out)
Also EVERY fitting drilled out, and the Banjo bolt going into the tank drilled out and indexed so that one of the holes points stright down the line. Drilled it out down the length of the threads and crossways so much I was nervous about tightening it... LOL
Worked out good for me though :O). No one ever believes me when I tell them what kind of redneck fuel setup Im running. Im not trying to make anymore power, so I wont change anything either....
Id do dual 044s, and I really like that surge tank setup.

So what pump do you have intank to feed the surge? Just a Walbro? I like that setup. Looks sweet. And not having to sump is a plus.
And is that price with or without the pumps?
The other nice thing is you can run the tank a little bit low if you wanted as well and not have to worry about sloshing fuel and air in the lines.
