Running NHRA Rules and being partially owned by NHRA are 2 different things.

Mack is right.

Bristol as well as other tracks have NHRA events there but are not owned by the NHRA,

NDRA can run at the tracks that are not owned by NHRA

example:
Pomona-NHRA owned

There was something on here one time and someone said that nhra controls etown. I have now idea if that is true or not. Atco can get good crowds too right? I have never been there so I don't know. Oh yeah, please no conflicting nhra events. </TD></TR></TABLE>

if ya want to see Atco raceway packed full, go to the Pan-Am nationals..

they are more focused on the east coast.... they lost all of their interest in us west coast riderz...........

Hopefully someone will realize that is cost way too much money to travel to the other side of the country.

This is the problem.... Import Sanctions don't really make money off of racers, they make money from spectators.... and from the pictures I see from events out west.... No one spectates.... East Coast has ton of spectators.... and tons of racers... So there going to go where ever they get the most spectators because thats were they make the money....

5-8 years ago we would to have 15,000 people at LACR palmdale,CA one of the crappiest tracks in Ca. I guess it has now moved over to the east coast. It sucks to enthusiast who will not be able to race because a $$$ comes before everything else. Its suppose to be a win/lose situation. Guess for west coast people its a lose/lose deal.

Sacramento Raceway is not going to have any other import races there except for CMI.

This is getting really depressing

I'm out here at SEMA right now and I got my schedule before they released it on the websites. Let me tell you west coast guys something: Drifting is KILLING drag racing out there. I'm not the one that pointed that out. Someone else pointed it out while we were at the Sport Compact Driver's meeting. There were a few people at the meeting that went to whatever D-1 event that was held out there, and they were saying that it was so packed that they had to send people away because there was no room for them inside!!! Drifting is not that big of a deal on the east coast yet, so we can pack 10,000 people into a sport compact race because that is our only kind of race. The Pan American Nationals at Atco pays 15k to win, and they pay attention to what the FANS want. They bring the fans what they want to see. I was on the pit crew for the QA 1 sponsored Toyota Corolla at the Pan Americans this year. There were 33,000 people there on SUNDAY alone!!!!! It was a 2 day event! There was nowhere to sit during eliminations, and people were sitting on top of the bathroom buildings! At SEMA there are a shitload of drifting cars there, including the D-1 World Champion car. I'm just trying to say that drifting could possibly devastate the state of racing out there on the west coast.

alright since i actually know from the inside whats going on ill inform you. one thing NOPI really looked at this year was where there core group of racers that traveled was from. with the exception of STR and Saturn and a partial season from Leslie it was all east coast racers. they realized that most of the racers are not sponsored and have limited budgets. so what would you do? cater to the people that help you, and thats basically what they are doing. if you west coast guys want to whine then start traveling and they will go back.

and to clear up an issue about NHRA owned tracks. i believe there are 5 or so that the NHRA owns themselves. of course theres Pomona, the main one that NOPI really wants to get into is Comerce Georgia. as far as i know etown isnt owned by the NHRA but with Javier working with the NHRA sport compact series i dont think hell let there biggest competitor in.
