1st time at the track..............
Shouldn't my car be faster, I was hoping for low 15s or high 14s, so can someone give some advice. I have a 96 ex coupe with a b18c1, I/H/E. This was on shitty stock tires and sprint springs, Here is my time:
R/T... .778
60' ... 2.416
330... 6.674
1/8... 10.135
mph.. 71.32
1000. 13.112
1/4... 15.614
mph.. 90.78

do you guys think that I would be able to pull 2.2 60 ft with stock steelies and tires, or am I better off expecting a 2.2 after I get lighter rims and better tires?
I was running in fontana at the california speed way, Im not too sure about the elevation, and no, I didn't mess with the tire pressure. DO you think that would have helped?

Lowering your tire pressure helps out considerably.
Try airing the fronts down to about 22psi and inflate the rears to the max psi listed on the tires......
Elevation could also be a factor.....
About the elevation. Here's what i found:
California Speedway/ Fontana Raceway
Elevations
Start/Finish Line 1121.27 ft above sea level
Top of Grandstands 1200.04 ft above sea level
At 1100 ft above sea level you will definitly be running slower than at a lower elevation....

That seems pretty slow. The first time I raced my car at a track I got a 15 flat, that was with 2.4 60ft. I have a 93 Honda del Sol S with a B16 and I/H/E. I would think you should at least get a low 15, high 14's with better 60ft.
Congrads!!! You have just built a GSR!
Why swap the motor from a 2700lbs car into a 2600 car???
I think it's time for boost or get a hatch.

Yea do what 95ex said. Launch at at least 5k with out totally dumping the clutch. If your not using drag radials do not do a burn out.
You'll probably traction hop like mad with the sprint springs on stock shocks.

For a heavy coupe that is about right, drop the 60' to 2.2s and you'll be low 15s like the other guy said.

Damn these socal tracks haha. I went to palmdale...ouch!!! Times were pretty slow. I have a 92 gsr hatch w/intake and was able to only run 15.2s. I also had my CEL come on during the run (near the top of 3rd) and kinda held me back for an instant. My 60ft times were 2.3 on 13'' vx rims (stock tires). I first thought that i was doing something wrong...but other hybrids with more mods were slower! One hatch was 15.7 and a crx hybrid 15.9.
I wanna try fontana..the elevation isn't AS bad as palmdale's..but i heard traction is a problem. When I go to the bay area next week...I want to try sacramento raceway too.
