Anyone know what the quarter mile record for a turbo'd SOHC is?

I'm thinking SOHC as in D-series.

Might have to search but I think it's 10.20ish with either Zexman or Jason Whitfield.

Based off of your question - Rage Performance ( now Whitfield Racing Inc ) holds it since early '98 10.20 @ 141.59 2070 lbs crx -

TRUE SOHC - 75mm bore
No stroke
Stock trans and Axles

Zexman beat the MPH in testing w/143 or 145 I think, but if we include tresting we went 10.09 too but I only count the track #'s and also when they are backed up.

Actually Jason Budd went 1,455/6.419/9.938/143.567 in the 85 lude at Napierville, montreal in a SOHC 12 valve A20A2. But besides us I think Bisimoto went quicker but he's all motor so I don't know if it counts?

I went 148.20mph during competition at an NDRA event in Texas, it was not in testing.

I didn't know there was a SOHC racing association, or a special class just for SOHC cars.
Does this include any cars that have a SOHC motor in it?

BTW, what's the 1/4 mile record for blue '00 SI coupes with the AEM intake on 22" slicks and stock wheels? Not interested in times for the black ones.

Re: 1/4 record for a turbo SOHC? (ZEX Man)
SOHC record is just as important to the SOHC huys as all the other records people keep.

Daily Driven N/A
Daily Driven Boost
HotRod
ProFwd
ProRwd
Etc.........

Once you build something you take a lot of pride in it - so going for a record in a class is very important to that person.

We are going hard for the street class record thos year -

Re: 1/4 record for a turbo SOHC? (TurboGoKart)
We should have our Single Cam Hot Rod car started very soon. I have a week off work in a few weeks and I hope to start it up. Just waiting for the final flywheel (Custom) so I can install the clutch and start her up.

We ended up installing a B series tranny, onto the D series motor. Using all DSS Stage 6 Axles and the strong stuff now.

There are a lot of pics in the thread on my sig, but more will be posted once the car starts

Car would be done a long time ago, but work gets in the way!

That's a smart move Marc, the D-series transmission was the only weak link I had to work around. D-series engines are plenty strong when built. I am excited to see how the car runs this year. Good luck.........

I can't wait. It has been a lot of work, as the B tranny install requires a lot of custom pieces. Once done, the kits is going to be released by a very well known company to make life easier for all you single cammers!
