From: where cars dont get stolen, NY
Im new to the whole buffer deal, and the 7424 looks like a good setup for me.
im looking at this package
http://www.autogeek.net/poca74pofcop.html
there are 3 cars i will be working on to start.
-one has some decent scratches, and oxidation on two panels
-one was recently buffed, but still has some minor scratches, and i doubt it was sealed
-one just needs to be waxed and sealed, and has few if any scratches
so with the above kit, what other pads/products would i need? would just those orange pads be enough to cut through oxidation, yet be soft enough for a car that really needs no cutting? or would i need other just soft pads for waxing?
i typically do clay/cleaner wax (pendning time) meguiars/meguiars gold class
what would you recommend as far as a gloss/sealer? i have always had good results with meguairs gold class so i may stick with that for wax...
thanks for the input

orange pads will get through oxidation with the right polish. i have never used xmt polishes. i prefer menzerna polishes: sip and nano. usually the orange pad will leave behind some micromarring so you need to follow it up with a white pad and depending on that finish, finish up with a black pad. then seal, then wax.
i love poorboys world ex-p sealant. such a badass deep reflection on black/dark colors.
if you wanna take a step up to a better wax without a nasty price, get nattys blue, which is for dark cars. not sure what color your cars are.

i have EX-P, blackhole and natty blue i oreder from autogeek along with some ssr 2.5. They included some XMT paste wax for free with it, i plan on trying it since it says its safe for trim pieces. Now to pick the buffer lol
