Default help on how to remove brake dust damage

Alright, so I had some Hawk racing pads on, about a year ago, and they obviously ate my rotors and pissed me off because they were so damn noisy. Aside from that, the brake dust that was created had also eaten its way into my near perfect Si wheels. does anyone have any idea how to get this stuff to be gone?!?! It is really hideous and makes me want to just pick up another set of Si's, but they I will feel stupid if there is a way to get this stuff off by just working on it rather than getting a new set. Check out the images below.

I'd look into having them acid washed by a detail shop, or you can do it cheaply with the works bathroom cleaner and baking soda/water mix to neutralize the acid just google how to acid wash wheels it'll pull up a DIY

Is it actual damage through the wheels finish?

use a fine steel wool and rub it with water. A little elbow grease should do the trick. Try it with one area to check results.

also wash your car atleast once a week if you daily it.

this is a good question, it almost looks like the dust is just caked on the wheel pretty good?

I would try some sonax full effect wheel cleaner with a wheel brush before using steel wool. sonax is safe for all wheels and coatings. if your to harsh with the steel wool you might end up removing the coating off the wheels or make them look dull if you dont use some sort of polishing compound along with it.

I would say that it is actual damage. I did try steel wool on a very small area and no luck... This is why I am sort of stuck between a rock and a hard place. Keep the ideas coming, because I would much rather do it myself than take it to a wheel repair guy and spend hundreds. I wanna say that the brake dust isn't actual dust from the brake PADS but more-so, I think it is dust from the ROTORS. This is because when i checked my rotors after so long, the hawk pads ATE THEE **** outta my rotors. This leads me to think that its literally burnt into the wheel finish.

I had the exact same problem on the same wheels. I used CLR and one of those dish washing sponges with the green abrasive side.

I want to say yes, because I've tried to scrape it off but no luck... I'm gonna try the sonax and see what comes of it.
