Need to get Flywheel Cut?
We just pulled apart our JDM B18B and are wondering whether or not to get the flywheel recut. We're putting in an ACT Clutch that is good for 408 ft/lbs of torque.. it looks pretty straight, but there do appear to be some small rubs where it is not even.. looks even with my eye though
..
Thanks for any help!

I was told this clutch eats away the flywheel anyway.. so do I Need to cut it? I can't see any grooves or spots that don't look smooth.
thanks

If you want you can email a photo of the flywheel to me to look at. Basically my opinion is if the flywheel is smooth and flat within .010" (using a good straight edge) don't bother to resurface it, especially with the puck disc. It sounds like you have typical small hard spots. Grinding the flywheel only hides these spots. It doesn't get rid of them since they penatrate pretty deep, but that's OK. The disc is only influenced by high spots, not hard spots. Check for cracks of course. Any crack at the clutch surface will just grow and risk potential burst failure. Of course we have lightened flywheels that won't pose that risk if you want to spend the coin.
