Default Help! How do you get automatic shift cable out of transaxle???!

The shift selection cable broke on my 87 accord and I can’t figure out how to disconnect it from the transaxle end . I took off the little holder cover held on with a 12 mm bolt and I can see into the hole but I can’t figure out how to unhook it through the hole. There must be a procedure to gain more access but I can’t find it in any service manual or online. Hoping someone has done this before, please help.

Ok after more online research I found out how to get the cable out. You need to take off the crossmember in the middle underneath 7 14 mm head bolts. Then the bracket that the motor mount sits in 3 12mm head bolts also the bracket that is between the engine and transmission towards the front of the car with 4 14 mm head bolts. After that take off the tin shield where you access the torque converter bolts. After that’s off you can see there is a pin with a small flat plate on it held in with a Cotter pin. You also have to take off a cover where the cable comes into the transaxle held on with 1 12mm headed bolt. It took longer to figure it out then to take it apart. I hope this helps someone else sometime.
