heating prolems
i got a 87 crx si. all stock. put new radiator and hoses thermostat. well when i took out the old thermostat or what was left of it, all the center was missing. installed all the new parts and let the car get to temp. pulled the cap off to check the water level and it was good. problem is that the motor was still warm of course i had just turn the car off but the water in the filler neck was still cool/ cold. water wasent warm at all. also water was leaking from the back of the motor only when car was at temp and had pressure in the system though. could part of the old thermostat be stuck some where blocking the water from the radiator to enter the block / or leaving the block? also could not see where water was leaking from. wasent from the thermo housing cause all that was dry. onlt water i saw was dripping off the axel couldent see where it came from before hitting the axel. need help guys gotta get this thing running asap! its my only car.
well after a little more searching found out it was leaking from the thermo housing. probly why the water in radiator was still cool leaked out before it got back to the radiator, that and a combo of not letting run long enough.
