B15A2 to direct injection?
I have a 1987 Honda Civic 4 door, and I think (As most hondas... actually) That this car is just cute as a button
Shes a little out of sorts but I've been slowly getting her back up to spec.. I'm thinking of going out of my way and tweaking her as I see fit but first things first can I get a mega squirt system going... There too many tubes etc for me and I'ld rather have a DIY fuel injection kit anways, but I'ld strongly prefer direct fuel injection.
Is there a head that will fit and work well with this bullet proof motor for direct fuel injection?
And for whats its worth I know this isnt cost effective by any means however I've always wanted to do it and now I have some sort of an excuse... a weak one but an excuse none the less...
I'ld probibly have the engine done within a year assuming my new job is as good as it seems
If for whatever reason I cant get a head to work for direct injection I'll start looking for another motor, preferably one with a serpentine belt.. thanks for any constructive input.

Don't direct injection systems typically run absurd fuel pressure levels compared to a typical multi-port injection system, and require special injectors?
Why bother with direct injection? Doesn't MegaSquirt use a batch injection setup (all, or at least several, injectors fire together)?

Oh foey you seem to be correct about that
Direct injection is a smidgen more efficent from what ive read... Was hoping to get high MPG's and reliability out of everything when I'm done
I guess I'll just have to drop the idea of direct injection for now...
But yes, it does require alot of pressure, and as such high pressure and high tempature injectors...
I guess your right Tuner, I'll have to use a throttle body...

Your correct, I dont know why I thought it was a B engine... it infact says right behinid the passenger headlight ithas a stamp that says D15A2 in fairly large font, and some other numbers (in a more normal font) which I assume is some sort of serial number....
ive got a 4 door with a D15A2 also. kinda hard to find parts for :/ i cant even find a IAT for it lol tried finding different heads for it. but cant find a fit. i think im just going to do a swap!
I have a 91 Civic Special Edition 4 door sedan with a D15A2 engine with a 16 valve fuel injected head on it.Everything I read says this engine comes with a carb not fuel injection.Has anyone ever heard of this engine/head combo or has it been modified for this head?
