i'm guessing this in your 2000 accord...you can use a metra double din kit for honda's part# 99-7801 that should get rid of your gaps

I was thinking, that if i took the stock radio holders which im using now, and drilled all the holes like a 1/4 inch back, and i could just but the outside skirt behing the dash. We will see how this works

Did you use the stock metal brackets? If you did then all you have to do is cut the down a bit so that the unit sits deeper in the dash and allows the trim ring to fit.

Do you happen to have a pic of this? my plan was to drill new holes to do that same idea, but it didnt work out, so yet again i tore my dash apart for nothing. Also for some reason now my OEM clock doesnt keep very good time, and the back light no longer works. Any ideas on either subject?

the bulb probably went out on the clock, very common in that gen accords, i would suggest just picking up the dash kit, would make your life a lot easier.
