Default Which wire is the remote wire?

OK, I am going to hook up my amp to my factory cd player until I get a new one. But where is the remote wire hooked up to? I have asked before and all I have heard is test all the wires when the car starts up and the one that changes voltage is the right one. But I have no clue on how to do that and that would take forever there are so may wires. Surely someone knows which wire it is. Like what color is it, does it have a stripe, and where is it (I am assuming underneath the steering wheel).
I have a 2001 Civic EX Coupe.
Thanks and please LMK.

Your factory cd player may not even have a remote wire. How many wires come out of your headunit and go nowhere? The remote wire shouldn't be connected to anything since there is no factory amp.
It really isn't that hard to test, you can get a test light for about a buck, connect the clip to a ground (any bare part of metal joined to the chassis) and the other end to the wire. You're looking for a wire that makes the light glow when the headunit is on.

actually your remote wire on your stock deck should be your power antenna wire...if there is no remote specified. i know you think well thats for my antenna but if you have a power antenns just tap into the line if not run it straight from the headunit...just because it says power antenna dosent mean it has any special function does the same as remote sends power to turn your antenna on when car is started
