Default Windows Automatically roll up Alarm Module.

Well I have that module that when you arm your alarm the windows automatically roll up.

I had a question, last night it just stopped working.. How would I troubleshoot this to fix this problem?

Where might it be broken?

first check the fuse on teh module itself, wherever they mounted it , if its not that it might be a faulty module, or maybe your ground when armed wire came loose or disconnected

Cool man thanks for the reply.. I located where the fuse is that will be the first thing to replace/check on.

I wouldnt be able to tell if its blown or not so I think i'll just replace that.

Hopefully thats the only problem..

you can ground the input wire to test it, sometimes the 200ma output of the alarm isnt enough to activate the modules. if that is the problem, just add a relay to beef up the ground signal.

How would adding a relay beef up the ground signal? A relay switches when it gets a 12v source to output a 12v to another device, IE an actuator or switch. If he has power windows already, there is definitely a relay in there from the factory. Adding another relay already to make a beefier ground...why the **** would he need to add another relay? That makes no sense whatsoever man.

the relay would be used to make the ground signal from the alarm brain to the window module stronger. i have had to do this many times before since alarm outputs are usually only 200 milliamps. the way you would hook it up would be:
86 12v
85 ground switch from alarm
87 grounded
30 output to window module

a relay can be used for many different things, other than a switch.

You numbers are right, just never heard of it making a stronger ground signal. Only thing i know is to make a better ground is to move it to unpainted metal. What you are saying now makes sense somewhat, but still wouldn't use a relay just to make a better ground. I would just relocate it. for future info

if the ground output (signal from alarm to activate module) isn't strong enough to activate the module all the time, a relay is needed to make the signal stronger. the alarm's output will now activate the relay which in turn puts out an actual ground signal to the module. in no way are you upgrading the ground for the actual alarm, just the output signal. hope this clarifies.

i still havent had a chance to check out the fuse.. i have aftermarket power windows. i hope that the relay that i think it is is for the auto up module and not the power windows.. but we will see.. today i am going to change the fuse.

Alright guys I ran into a problem.. The fuse that I thought was for the Auto Up module was actually for the power windows..

Where would the fuse for the auto up module usually be located? Inside of the door panel? under the dash?

it will be usually a few inch's from the module itslef, and if the ground is not strong enough, u can do what he suggests above about the relay, he read the thread and knows what he is talking about, but the other remarks

and another thing, if u are using one of them aftermarket window kits like u said, sometimes there is no limit switch's/clutchs' on those kits for the alarm window module to read that good, wich in turn puts a strain on the alarm/window module , and after time will blow the fuse. how long have you had the alarm/window automation module installed ?>

Thanks for the help, I'll try and read the numbers off the box that I think is the module.

The box was behind the fuse box in the drivers side.

also.. what I tried to do was replace that fuse, with a spare fuse that was inside of the fuse box. The spare fuse said it was a 10A. on the module the fuse said 10. I dont know if that makes a difference or not.. Still didnt work though
