Default Window Removal Break Ins ???

Anybody heard of theiving bastards removing front or rear windows to break into Civics (96 to 98)??

Or, possibly popping out the sun/moon roof glass??

I'm wondering about other ways they can get in without breaking glass or opening the doors....

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW,

thanks

Actually you don't even have to break the window. FOr example my Teg was broken in to through the passenger window. They just pryed the window just a little bit just enought to stick a coat hanger and pull on the power door lock switch. I guess for 96-98 honda civic the driver side is more vulnerable.

right, but that is still opening the door, which triggers the alarm...if the window is removed, and they climb in that way, they never open the door.

My shock sensor is only set off from sudden jolts/hits to the car. (If you slap it, it'll go off, but if you give it a small, slow, rock it wont. So if you slide in smooth enough it wont go off, but that's where the proxy sensor comes in

thats exactly right, maybe thats what i need is a proxy sensor inside the vehicle...do you have any more information of that??

I figure im going to put an electromagnetic switch on the center console cause you know thats always the first place they go to see if your face plate is there..then that would trigger the alarm...but the proxy sensor would do it much better, but i need more information on that.

Nice thing tho is the magnetic switch is 4.99 at Radio Shack.

the proxy sensor i have does this:
If you are standing within 3 feet of my car for more than about 5 seconds, it'll beep at you. If you actually stick your arm inside the car, it will fully go off. This is great for leaving the windows down in the summer
