Yes. Still possible. Do a quick search for "stolen" and see how many had a removable steering wheel.

You're forgetting a couple things -

1. Most of the people in here are installers who deal with stolen cars on a day to day basis.

2. Do a quick search for "stolen nrg" and you'll quickly find people who have had their cars stolen with nrg locking hubs.

3. Thieves can be damned determined if they really want a car.

Nothing against them, as they are another good layer, but they are not a be-all end-all security measure.

So... are we going to have this thread once a week now? Should I just make this a sticky?

1) It's not reliable. Too many people here on HT have reported having their car stolen with a steering wheel lock, even the new and improved NRG.

2) It's too expensive for too little return. There is better bang-for-buck security out there.

3) You just want one cuz you're a damn ricer, so admit it.

I asked Santa Claus for the Tekniq Snap-Off system because I thought it was a cool idea, and yes, I was a ricer back then...

But I still think it's a cool idea.

Too many people???? I did a search and found a couple people that got there car stolen and they all said tow truck. So i think this system is a good bang for the buck. What system could be better than this than a boot??

How do you know it was a tow truck. Were you and the owner there when the theif drove it off. Half the cars that were stolen and the owner said it was towed is because most can't come to the ideal on that their weak fuel cut had did its job.

I seen this 3 weeks ago when I did a itr that was stolen. Thank god it was not stripped but just a joy ride. Went with the owner to pick it up and the dam kill switch was still on and the car still started because the theif bypassed it.

2% fall in the tow range. The rest are driven away.

It's another layer, It will help but it certianly won't prevent it from happening.
I don't where you guys came up with vise grips but I can't see them doing any damage to this thing. However, a large flathead an a hammer will bust the lock and get it off no problem.

I use quick releases so that I can change my steering wheels up whenever I want. All my cars have them so I get to mix and match them up. I have a nice wheel collection going on
