Default will i go deaf?

ever since ive gotten the bass ive been after my ears feel 'poppy', i have to be blowing them out all the time, will i go deaf if i listen to loud bass too long?
i don't have a killer set-up, probably mild compared to most audio heads on here, but the bass is loud, im just worried about my hearing loss, what was that? you said something? i don't want to start saying things like that when the music is off

your ears will lose its hearing over a period of time (also because you're getting older..). thats why i don't care for an SPL system, even though my sub is capable of producing 140db. SQ for me and none less.

wouldnt your ears get feelin like that cuz the air in your car is getting pressurized, like on a plane or somethin? my ears would do that when i had my 15s in my crx. felt cool tho.

more air pressure with bass, less air pressure when you're going up high on a plane

If your ears ring at night, you are most likely damaging your hearing. It's not a good thing to lose.

Hopefully you have some way of controlling bass level remotely. Either head or the little amp switches. The only thing I can say is be careful. Don't bass for extended periods of time. I normally keep it to one song, and then rest for 15 minutes

BTW, if you hear ringing, you have already suffered hearing loss. Welcome to the club

LOL! now I have heard everything.. You can destroy your hearing just as easy with tweeters. Depends on how loud you listen to your music. Use common sense and listen at normal levels.

Oh yeah, tweets and mids destroy your hearing much easier, around 105-108db depending on freq. With subbass you need to get into the 120's to even think about doing damage.

True. You can use one only, intended for cell phones and such.

Yup

When I can't hear wind and engine noise with the windows down, I know it is too loud.

I'm the same way. I sold (at a big lost) a perfectly good 12" sub and box because it was hurting my ears. I loved it, but it hurts my ear after long playing. So I have a small 8 inch now.

I would suggest you turn the sub down, set the amp so the sub only produce the lows, and let rears capture the difference. Less earth shaking boom, and better on the ears. We don't always need the boom in everything we hear.
