Default sub tuning

im having trouble tuning my 10l5 subwoofer, its in a sealed box built to specs wired at 2ohm on my dei 1100D getting 800rms, its on a coustic xm-6 crossover and alpine radio, i can't get it right too much things to fiddle with

everytime a pro tunes my system it sounds great, until i go frig with it

i want to learn to do it myself, but it just never sounds right

ill get it sort of ok and then the next song im back to fiddling with it

maybe i need a pre-amp instead of a crossover? ive tried it straight on the amp and while its simpler and sounds better, its not as loud as with the crossover

any help appreciated

maybe ill just have to buy someone a beer to do it

i think if i had 2 subs it would be better, when i had 2 cvrs they would be much easier to tune as they filled the entire car with bass, the l5 gets loud but rattles every darn thing in a one mile radius for some reason

I hear people complain about this all day long..lol....some people just have an ear for tuning, some don't, don't worry bout it bro, but once you get it sounding the way you like, then don't mess with it.

i did it!!!!!!!!

i thought about the power that the amp pushes (800rms) the wattage of the sub (450rms) the out on the h/u (4volt) and im like wtf!?

i turned the gain to minimum, and went from there, got it EXACTLY how i want it, the bass boost is also down, and the bass eq on the amp off as well

i need some higher wattage subs, 2 that can take 600 rms a piece, or one that can take 800, im thinking of an l7, i love the square kickers, they are sexy!
