What type of amp?
I don't know too much about audio systems, but here's what I'm trying to get. I want to get an amp to help out the 6x9's I have in the car. The cd deck I have is a Pioneer DEH-4400 and the 6x9' are Pioneer TS-A6985 3-ways. I always get confused what type of power I need to look for, and whether I need a 2-channel or 4-channel amp. What would be a good amp with the specs needed? Thanks for any help.
If it were me, I would get some nice front speakers (if you dont already have a set) and get a nice 2 channel amp to run the front speakers like 2 X 75 watt rms. The run the 6X9's off the head unit with a passive crossover on them say a about 80hz or so.
I think it should sound nice. In all the setups Ive heard it sounds so much better to have a nice soundstage in front an dhave very little or no rear fill.
Happy amping
