Default what kind of speaker

i have free alpine r speakers, but i don't know what they are (compoents, 2 or 3 way ect)

I will see if i can get a picture of them but, they are 6x8's and they don't have a tweeter, but they have like a silver cone thing in the middle.

If there is no tweeter you will not get all your frequency's, but if its just for the rear deck you should be fine. You will need to make a baffle of some sort because the oem speakers are 6X9.

Not worth the effort to install them.

fcm you are correct. those are what i got, but i have the x overs and tweeters too. I will get some speakers for the front eventually, im slowly building my system up. I will be running those off an amp, i'll probably cut something out of wood and put it on that, and put the wood up where the 6x9's go. Should i use the Xovers in the back and not use the tweeters, or run the tweeters to the front off the xover (which would still be in the back)?

I wouldn't use the tweeters at all, placing the tweeters that far away from the mids isn't going to help SQ, but then again, it can't hurt to try them, just run the wires over the seats some double-sided tape will let you try the tweeters on a few diff. locations, and if you find you like the sound of them someplace up there then run the speaker leads and mount the tweeters, remember it only has to sound good to you. 94

good point. I probably will get other alpines for the front or something and im sure they will have tweeters with them too since alpine likes to give them to every one haha. Anyways, I will be running the front and rear deck off a 4 channel amp, should i still use the provided X-overs for both?
