My first amp was a bazooka, nothing great, but for the price I got 5 years out of it. I just purchased an Alpine MRD-501, crutchfield had them onsale for $299 because they were last years model and it pounds. Depending on the power you need you can get the Alpine MRD-301 off ebay for a decent price.

But before you but what subs do you got, and how much power do you need?

It sounds like you just want something cheap that will power your sub correct? Profile California has some pretty good amps for the money that are very cheap. Lanzar has some good amps from what I have heard.

1st of all what do you want to amplify? Mids and highs or a sub?

Oh yeah guess I should have asked that. Rockford Fosgate also makes some pretty good amps for powering subs if you really want to spend $200-300 but if you want to go cheaper than that the others are good amps.

search ebay. I got an autotech mean machine mx1300 for $300. It is a beast for subs. But very power hungry. Autotech meanmachines are good amps I used to have a keenwood 929 that powered to 12s and it was str8. And the old school ppi artist series are nice like a ppi300.2 or600.2. Thats my 2cents
