What make/model is the siren?

What make/model is your alarm?

Ebay Piezo sirens SUCK. Let me guess, something along the lines of "piezo style"?
DEI 513T is what you want, careful ebay has some sneaky sellers.

You ain't kiddin'.... I bought some cologne a few weeks ago, and even though the auction said "Authentic" and "Sealed", what I got was a bottle full of 95% rubbing alcohol and 5% women's perfume. When I looked at it more carefully, you could see where they used a pick to loosen the factory crimps on the spray nozzle so they could remove it to dump out the real stuff & pour in the other "stuff"...

Not the same situation, but just goes to show that you get what you pay for.

Aw, my eBay sirens worked out nicely. I got like, 10 of them for $12 shipped, and have been deafened by them multiple times.

People seem to forget it's the sellers not ebay that are to worry about, I've had only a few issues with the sellers and it was to be expected from the lower 98% bulk sellers, but price does have a big factor on these things....

Default Another Thread Revival...

I, too, would like a Samuel Jackson...

I have a cheapie eBay Piezo. The back of the plastic cover shows "12V DC, 110mA"

I have a "Siren Relay" that provides Power Output for one or more Sirens, but will I need to fuse this wire to help prevent this or other Sirens like it (I have two), from burning out, or worse, catching fire? If so, what Amp rating should I use (do they make fuses that small)?

Thanks for the help

Typically, even a full size Clifford/DEI siren doesn't use more than an amp of power, so see if you can get somewhere around that fuse size. I don't think the alarm will even let enough power through the siren wire to cause any issues.

The Power that will be sent to the siren will be from a 15A Fused lead to 12v Const. This will be switched by a relay.

I'm gonna fuse the Power Leads to each Siren, individually, with the smallest fuse I can find. The wires are really small for it, and I'd rather be safe than sorry. It won't look as "stealthy" with the fuses sticking out, but I'll try to work a way around that...

Thanks!

I had a question regarding the Current Rating on these sirens...
http://www.allproducts.com/man....html

The back of the siren shows "110mA"... What does that mean? Min/Max Current drawn, or allowed, or something else? I'm wondering because the smallest Fuses I can find for now are Spiral 3As or Blade 5As, and I don't wanna start a fire.

Thanks again for the help!

I got one of those ebay siren too and you can barely hear it. I guess it's time to get another one.
