Default What gauge wire to extend o2 sensor?

Hey guys, I just figured i'd post in here since most of you guys would know more about wires and stuff. I'm trying to extend one of the plugs for an o2 sensor. I was just wondering what gauge wire i should use and do I use one of those tube thingys that you crimp down?

Use a 20 gauge wire:

You can also use 18 gauge but the stock size is 20 gauge. The reason you should use a small size is becasuse the o2 sensor gives off really really low volt. and if you use a thick wire it loss volt. and your cel will come on. Also if your going to us a a/f ratio gauge take it from me and tap the ecu wire and not the o2 sensor wire!

It should be ok. 20-22 are small and shouldnt mess with the voltage comming from the o2 sensor!

I used 18 gauge and it looked thicker than the stock o2 wiring. Still worked fine with no problems though.

18 gauge is ok but I dont recommend it because how much voltage comes from the sensor is very very little.

So now people:
To extend your o2 sensor use:
Butt conntecters:

18-22 aeg wire. But I recommend 20-22 awg:

screw the butt connectors solder your wires and use heatshrink.

You don't need a large gauge wire you not passing much current through the wire.

A larger wire shouldn't do anything to the voltage but it may shift the time the signal gets to the ECU. Larger wire will have more inductance and capacitance.
