i hit 138.8 with 2 powerbass L12D $60 each and a Powerbass ASA1500.1 $227. it was in my civic coupe and in a 5cu ported tuned to 35hrtz. that mtx is a joke. i am now in the mid 140 with a bigger amp.

lol, you obviously missed the sarcasm

The L's are decent subs for the money. I personally like them better than the XLs, but they are about 20 bucks more apiece at cost. I am running an older ES12DS while I am currently searching for a new sub.

I don't care what nobody says, this sub is loud as fawk. We put one is a escalde with the mtx slot port enclosure. And sent 6k watts to it. 4 amps strapped, 4 batteries and 2 alternators. At product cost of 8k. Down fall. Price is to dam expensive, takes up all the dam room, install of amps and cable is tight, gas goes down the drain, car wears tires and drives like shyt. But its cool as hell to look at. Op do what you like and knock off this flame war. Let get some more ideas.

I am sure it is loud as hell, but its impractical, just like Audiobahn's 34" sub and Clarion's 32" sub. This sub was not designed for daily drivers, and although Mitek probably provided it free of charge, using it in that application was just [freak]ing stupid.

For as big as it is, I'd be really surprised if it wasn't loud. But, as you've already mentioned, it's more for "shock and awe" than practicality. Too big, heavy and expensive.
It's a beast, there's no doubt about that.

I knew a guy who put four 15" Vega Strokers in the back of an S10 Blazer with Kicker 1000w amps powering them. (retarded loud) He even went as far as filling his body panels with concrete for increased rigity for SPL competitions. (at least that was his explanation) Needless to say, it wasn't a "driver" vehicle. Just for show and competition.

grantid 134db is pretty loud. but for a 22" sub its not. ive seen 12s tuned just a little higher then what youd want in a daily setup hitting mid 140s on music. and 10s with fart boxes burpin high 150s.

and fcm sry for dissin but it seems like as soon as i joined here you been flamin the **** outta me,that n i thought you were serious about jackhammers.

Why don't you all get off your asses and update the amp guts section? I submitted a shitload of internal pics over a year ago but they haven't gotten posted yet. </TD></TR></TABLE>
the mod for ampguts disapeared a long while back. john and the other mods are remapping the entire section currently and making it into an entire site here soon(WOOT!)
