Water Damage?
Due to a leaky moonroof and a rather large storm lastnight, when I went out to my car this morning and there was a puddle in under the passenger seat. Being in a hurry to get to a final, I failed to notice it. Trouble is, my amp is under the passenger seat for theft deterance. After a good bit of smoke and having to rip the power line off the battery by force, I figured the amp was dead.
It became partially submerged in water and played for about 20 seconds before cutting out and starting to smoke. As far as I can tell, the smoke came off of either the coil or one of the large cylinders inside (capacitors?). After drying out, it seems to work fine, but it still puts off a tiny bit of smoke and makes a strange smell...
Will it be alright?

wow, my advice is to get a new one just to be on the safe side you dont' want your car catching on fire. If you really want to keep it however, keep a fire extinguisher close by, just in case. Maybe after a few weeks of using it and everything seems fine, then i'd say keep it. But don't blame me if it catches on fire. ***Knock on Wood*** g-luck with that

take it to a electronic shop and have them look at it. Any amp that smokes is a fire hazard and should be unpluged asap. You can't trust that amp to sit in your car with out turning it into a bon fire when you are gone. Do your self a favor and get anothor.
