Default viper security system question...

hi im just wondering if anyone knows if there is a switch or something to turn off the alarm if the battery in my keyless dies. its a pretty old viper system on my 00 teg. if i try and use my key to unlock the car, the alarm goes off and there is no way to start my car...this could really suck if the battery dies in the remote or something. i just need to know if there is a hidden switch or something thanks

Yeah, the valet switch will take care of it. If this switch isn't installed you'll need to pick up a DEI valet switch and plug it in to the brain.

After that, just open car with alarm going off, hold the switch, and put the key in the On position to disable alarm.

Note that it's pretty well recommended to NOT keep the valet switch attached for this exact reason. A good bit of us just plug it in to program options, and then rip it back out. :-)

Yes, all viper systems came with them. Look under the dash and see if you can see the alarm brain-poor install. Look on the brain for a two wire pin coming out the blue port. Trace this back to the push buton switch. If not program for a diffrent pulse count it should be the factory default on press with the ignition on.

I don't think Viper/DEI has updated their valet switch setup in a while, so 2-pin off any DEI should work. I could be mistaken.

Luckily, they're pretty cheap regardless:
