Found this add on craigslist.com and I am considering it

not asking what you think of the condition or anything, but has anyone dealt with viper alarms? are they any good? this is also remote start, any opinions?

It is model 771XV. I also have the special box for a Jeep Grand Cherokee(93-98)thats needed for installation for those that comes with it. Other than that nothin more to say about it. All there ready to install

I would pay no more then 80 buxs for it. Its discontiuned, range is very entry level, and its used. IF its all you can afford then go for it. If you can save up and get something higher up in the dei line. You do not know what condition the remote is in. If its damage. Range can be affected and then you would have to buy a new one.

alright, definitely not going after it then. I can afford to save up a little more, especially for security. I just wasn't too sure about prices and quality of alarm system, figured it could be a steal but wasn't sure. thanks for the help
