viper 791xv
is the viper 791vx worth the money? I dont know much about alarms but is 150 too much for the install? What other sensors should i get with it, I have an alarm already but its pritty crappy. Im relocating my hoodlatch and putting a kill switch in should i keep my alarm i have already or is it worth upgrading?
i have the 791xv for a few months now. the battery in the remote sucks up like every month. but right now it's one of the better alarms out there. you should get a battery backup, and second siren.

There is no need to keep the alarm you have, as the 791vx is an alarm/remote start
As the alarm comes with a 2 stage impact sen., you may want to add a 2 stage proximity sen., I would def. add a back up batt. siren, and get the "starter cut" option on the alarm. I would also add a stand alone cut off switch, not part of alarm or controlled by the alarm.
If you own a standard trans. car, you may want to look into a system made for standards, as DEI, [Viper] are not. Compustar is, http://www.compustar.com

Yeah, $150 is cheap. But make sure you get a good job also. I install these for at least $200, but I take care to hide everything as best possible.
Definately add a backup battery siren. This will help if the battery gets disconnected or power is cut to the actual siren.
