Viper 5901 Trunk Pin Input Problem
Installed a Viper 5901 in a 98 Honda Civic. My trunk pin input on the alarm requires H1/7 to be grounded when armed (normally closed). The alarm will go off when there is no ground. Does this sound right? I believe the trunk switch is grounded when the trunk is popped open. Is there a program setting I need to change?
H1/7 blue is a neg.(-) input trigger, [instant trigger], it can not be programed.
Pin 4, of "Remote start input, 5 pin connector, [gray] can be programed for NC/NO neg(-) input.
Where did you connect the H1/7 blue trunk pin/instant trigger lead too? 94

My H1 connector has 12 pins. H2 has 18 pins and H3 has 10 pins.
I know that the Hood Pin Connector can be programmed NC or NO. So if needed I can connect the Trunk Input there also.
I have H1/7 connected to my Green Audio connector Pin B2 which is the Trunk Latch Switch.
To test my H1/7 input, I grounded that input. I armed the alarm, removed the ground and the alarm went off saying the trunk was open. Knowing that it wants to see a ground, I might just use a relay to reverse the trunk input so it gives a ground signal when the trunk is closed and no ground when the trunk is open. I just thought it was weird that H1/7 alarms when there is no ground signal....
What color is the lead at the "Green Audio connector Pin B2"? 94
What happens if you arm the alarm with the H1/7 trunk pin trigger lead not grounded and then ground it? 94

When I arm the alarm with it not grounded, my keypad says the trunk is open. When I ground it while it is still armed nothing happens.
If I arm the alarm with it grounded, my keypad is fine. When I remove the ground the alarm starts to go off.
Then problem is the alarm, where did you get the alarm?
Yes you can use a relay to reverse the polarity, or use the hood pin input, [a diode would be needed if you do not want trunk/hatch light turning on when hood is opened. 94

Well I believe everything else works on the alarm. I bought it off Amazon from user buy12voltcom.
