Default Used w7

My manager wants to get rid of his used w7. He's a car enthusiast and takes care of everything with much care. He wants the w7 for $300. Is it worth it?

there are 4 of them, [8", 10", 12" and a 13"], need to know what size, and how old it is, and does it come with a box and what kind of box.

Here is an idea of what they go for... http://search.ebay.com/search/...gory0= 94

10" comes with box...its not a JL box...i've heard it before it sounds great...its 2 years old...doesn't fit his g35 so its just laying around not being used...brand new 10w7 runs for 600 or so right?

First you must not know anything about car audio.

Look at the sub your buying and read...............
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/prod..._id=9

And look at the amp your buying and read.................
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...79572

Now switch back and forth and do the math.........

hmmm it does not add up. You need a amp that will put out 800 or a lil more watts rms at a 2 ohm load for it to work. You have a 3 ohm sub. So a 2 ohm amp is not going to put that power out to a 3 ohm sub. Also that amp will only put out 500 rms at a 2 ohm load. No were near what that speaker needs to perform right. Don't look at peak power. That is a bs number most of the time.

Hell you can get that sub with that amp and I can get a cheaper sub with a amp that rms matches the sub and make your sub sound like pooooooo. Running 500 watts to it will get it to play but to not its full potential. You need 750 watts to get it right were it should be. Plus that fosgate amp sucks ***** imo. Tried it and could never get it to perform like it should.

you're right...i don't know so i ask...so what do you suggest...i'm trying to spend 600 on amps and subs...preferably one sub because it'll fit really well in the 08 accord sedan's trunk...are there subs and amps you would get from best buy? please let me know

do you think they'll make some sort of in-dash conversion kit because i hate the stock head unit...i want to install a double din so i guess i'll have to wait

you can use that amp and have a lil boom and be way underpowered, but you would be better getting a jl audio 500/1 and have the least amount of power that jl reccommends and it would work. But 750 would be better and give you full advantage of the sub design. 500/1 or 1000/1 would be the best choice
