Default Underrated Amps?

I know a lot of the old school amps are underrated, but when looking for them I don't know what is and what isn't since the info just states the specs given not actual. What are some good underrated amps to keep an eye out for?

Why not just buy an amp that matches the gear you're trying to push?

Well I currently have two Audiobahn 12"s 500 watts rms, 1000 max dual 4ohm voice coils ech. Yeah I know, but I have had them for 5 years running strong. I plan to do a fiberglass enclosure with two Alpine R's later down the road. I'm not necessarily trying to find a amp to push the subs fully, but would be nice to have the ability to. It seems like a lot of the newer amps just don't have the quality that the old classics did.

I want a old amp that will handle what I need, but when the true specs aren't what's posted on the amp you can't go by that.

Almost everything mainsteam is now cea rated, meaning rms ratings are correct.

Yeah I know that the newer amp usually have correct power ratings. I'm just a big fan of old school amps. I loved my Rockford Fosgate amp till it was stolen. I'm in no way against newer amps, don't get me wrong. The quality and workman ship of old amps just show through to me. Maybe it's just me haha.

A agree to a point. But build quality and being underrated are completely different subjects.

I still have an old ppi pc250 that I love an has probably been in about 6 different cars of my own by now.
