Are two-way pagers necessary?
Thinking about picking up an alarm system for my car. I want something effective, but also cost effective. I'm planning on doing the install myself, I have a few ideas about where I want to put things so that it's setup different than stuff written up on here but still stealth/secure.
I'm going to buy power lock actuators, but I don't care much about remote start. I'm also trying to stay budget minded, while staying effective.
I'm definitely getting a tilt sensor.
This is less of a "what alarm should I buy" and more of a "do you think I need 2 way paging?"
Any thoughts? PS: 89 EF Si

Yeah, I guess I don't "need" it.
The only scenario I can think of where I would want one is if I am far enough away that I cannot hear it.
Maybe I should just wire like 30 horns into it so I can hear it from a mile away. That's basically more range than a 2 way pager.

No matter what you do, loud horns or the best 2way system, you can't always be in range.
Concentrate on protecting the car, the last thing I would do is get anyplace near a crook that is breaking into my car, it could get me killed.
With that said, there is nothing wrong with a 2way system, it is just one more layer to the system, if I had to pick one or the other, I would go with a GPS tracking system.
I have a 1way system on my car and although there have been attempts on it, the most I have lost is an ashtray full of "pennies from heaven" and some parking meter change.

Will having an 89 EF Si reduce my chances of getting raped? I'm in Miami currently and will be rocking stock rims while I'm here. I'm going to try to make my car look as stock as possible.
GPS is definitely out of my price range.
So far it sounds like 1 way, battery backup, tilt, multiple horns, power lock conversion.

More people were after my 90 Si than have been after any of my other cars. I've had 2 engine swapped EG's and a DA with nice rims.
I crashed the Si (not my fault (I was drunk j/k)), put some aftermarket fenders and a hood on it, badly aligned, and sold it for $1500 with full disclosure to the buyer.
