Well you should kind of tried it for yourself if you are going to do the work for yourself. Most aftermarket tweeters will be able to be placed behind the factory grill with slight moddification. Most you can use there own grills to replace the factory unit. I don't advise going to the swap meet and getting the cheap add on tweeters. They do nonething but over heat your factory radio. Do yourself a favor and save up for a good componet set. You will have better sound then just replacing the factory tweeter. If the tweeter were tired so are the paper cone speakers.
i didnt get a chance to look at it becuz my daughter alil sick and i was just asking well she was asleep. i noticed they were blown today so i just wanted to know. i was thinking about gettin alpines

before you buy anything you need to plan out what you are trying to get out of your system. And what your final budget is going to be. Most componets if not all need to be amped. But there are some entry level componets that can run of a high power aftermarket headunit. If you are using your stock radio I would steer away from a componet set. I would look into replacing the factory stock speakers with stock or some entry level 2-ways. What do you have in the car as far as a heat unit?

If they are alpine type-r componets up front, Just order some type-r tweeters from a alpine dealer. Or find some on ebay for a cheap pair.

You're too much... You already said that she was sleeping while you were posting. You could have been measuring.
