Trying to save my battery
Sorry if this seems stupid but here goes...... I drive a company truck on a daily basis so my accord ends up sitting in the garage for weeks, sometimes months at a time without being started. I recently got a new battery and I have been disconnecting both terminals to save it from being slowly drained. Well, I'm tired of disconnecting and reconnecting the terminals. So I bought a kill switch so I wouldn't have to do this anymore. I just want to know what's the easiest way to wire it in. I heard I could just wire it in with the ground terminal and this would be just like having the battery disconnected. Can someone confirm this for me? I know there's all kinds of ways to wire it to kill the fuel pump, alt,...etc. I just want to save the battery.
I wouldn't recommend disconnecting power from the vehicle because it erases the stored information in the ECU and also you lose all your stations/equalization etc. Also, batteries can go dead just from sitting.
What you want to do is go to summitracing.com and get a SUM-1206CC or other battery tender.
You might also consider a deep cycle battery. I use both.

I don't care about it erasing the radio stations or stereo settings. I don't care about it erasing the ecu info either. I'll be tuning with uberdata later on so all my settings will be on the chip. Thanks for your concern, any recommendations on which way I should hook up the cut off switch?
Thanks for the idea on the battery charger, I'll keep it in mind.

Still think it's 100x better to get a battery tender. A switch makes no sense and will not prevent your battery from going dead from sitting w/out being charged by the alternator periodically.
